Process

From concept to execution: my creative workflow

Good process is not bureaucracy. It is the shortest path between a vague ambition and something you can actually ship — and most of that path is decided before anyone opens a design file.

Understand before you draw

Start with a written point of view

The first phase produces no visuals at all. It produces a short document: who this is for, what it has to do, and what would make it fail. Skipping this is the single most expensive shortcut in the whole project.

Direction before detail

Concepts get explored broadly and cheaply, then narrowed. Only once a direction is agreed does the work get precise — because precision applied to the wrong idea is just wasted craft.

Build it to be handed over

Execution is not finished when it looks right in a mockup. It is finished when someone else can extend it correctly without asking me a question.

That means naming, structure, and documentation are part of the deliverable, not an afterthought bolted on at the end of the timeline.

The real test of any process is simple: Can the next person continue the work without you in the room?
